New Gaming Platform Lets Players Create Game Content
Andy Riedel, former VP of Mobile at Kabam, Aaron Jones, lead mobile engineer at Zynga, and Steve Hoffman, Sega veteran, serial entrepreneur and author of Game Design Workshop, have teamed up to launch PlayGearz, a next generation "moddable" Gaming Platform.

The PlayGearz Platform drives viral distribution of games by allowing users to personalize game content, express themselves, and share the results with friends.
By incentivizing our users to drive distribution, the PlayGearz Platform increases vitality and engagement, while lowering user acquisition costs. The result is a higher lifetime value for every user.

The first game to use PlayGearz is Yumby Smash. It goes live worldwide on the iPhone and iPad today and on the Kindle, NOOK & Android devices over the next two weeks.
"We are excited about the possibilities of user-generated levels and games," says Steve Hoffman, CEO & Cofounder of PlayGearz. "Instead of waiting months for the next level pack, there will be a steady stream of content!"

With PlayGearz Creator, the players can start building levels and playing them in a matter of minutes. Yumby Smash is the first game to take advantage of this new technology:

With Yumby Smash, players will be able to acquire new building blocks and make levels that go way beyond what's included in the original game. Each new pack of building blocks will include objects that redefine how the game is played, making the user-generated levels far more compelling and engaging.

"We want users to feel it's their game," says Riedel. "With PlayGearz, players can vote up the very best levels and everyone will get to play them."
