MyShelf - Portable Note Taking without Cloud
MyShelf is a note taking ecosystem for texts, photos, images, links, phone numbers etc. It is available on Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OS, Linux.
MyShelf is a powerful database app for many kinds of shelves within a single app:
- Note taking
- Idea store
- Photo management
- Task/Todo list
- Diary
- Recipe book

Data is stored in entries. Each entry consists of elements (currently text or image), an optional subject and tags. The database can be browsed through many ways: Simply searching a sorted list view (subject, creation date, modification date), tag filtering or full text search. The user is free to apply what is best for him/her.
By making special use of tagging, the user can build up its all-in-one personal database including use cases from simple note taking to diary and many more. This all-in-one approach allows for a unique view on the user's data.
MyShelf was built with privacy in mind. Therefore, each MyShelf application works independent with its own local database. However, syncing different devices is possible - using the private Wi-Fi at home or - for Android - using passive syncing through USB mass storage connection. No Internet service is involved.
The MyShelf Desktop client is available on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux as standalone or portable version. MyShelf Desktop is Freeware and a full MyShelf application. Hence, users can manage, view and edit their database on their desktop computer or laptop.
No premium features, no cloud service dependencies, no down times. The underlying database is the Open Source SQLite. Users should be able to say, all data in MyShelf is eternally mine.
