NARR8 evolves business model and adds new improvements
, digital publisher NARR8 debuts new usability features as well as the next step in its evolving business model that will reward loyal users by unlocking new content and functionality. The free-to-use mobile app released an all-new in-app purchase system for iPad Mini that will include an all new in-app purchase system that gives users the option to unlock episodes of their favorite content at a faster pace if they choose to.
This new feature works with NARR8's current in-app currency, "NARRs" tokens, which reveal features, series, collectibles and more, and which can be gained either through daily use of the application, or, starting Monday, by purchasing them—similar to the way in-app purchases work in free-to-play mobile games. However, NARR8 will continue to be free to download and use, and the first two episodes of each series will always be free to download.
The first step in NARR8's evolving business model was the introduction of NARRs tokens, which users accrued automatically by performing basic actions within the app, such as opening and reading episodes each day. This virtual currency has helped users unlock exclusive collectible items associated with each series. Now, users can also buy these tokens to unlock new episodes. Performing basic actions within the app will accrue the full weekly bonus of 120 NARRs per week. NARRs can be purchased in packages that range from $ 0.99 to $ 9.99.
Another great addition included in this update? The introduction of a convenient new autoplay feature for NARR8's motion comic series. This update will allow users to continuously stream episodes of motion comics with a single tap of their touchscreen. This feature will be available for in-app purchase.
"As part of our evolving business strategy, we recently revamped NARR8's tech to include gamification elements," said NARR8 president and founder Alexander Vaschenko. "Now, additional features like autoplay and unlocks for new episodes will make the NARR8 experience even better, since users now have the option to buy NARRs directly. But, as mentioned, NARR8 will otherwise remain completely free to read and use. We're excited to continue evolving the NARR8 product and look forward to opening up the app to talented third-party teams in the future!"
These new features are available in all international versions of the NARR8 app, including Russia, English-speaking countries, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Columbia, and South Korea. While NARR8 launched just two short weeks ago in Spanish- and Korean-speaking territories, the app has been ranked #1 on the iPad entertainment app list in Spain and in nine Latin American countries - Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, El Salvador, Uruguay, and Venezuela. NARR8 has more than 700,000 users, and has more than 300,000 active users monthly. NARR8 president Alexander Vaschenko predicts that in the second half of 2013, the number of mobile users with NARR8 installed on their devices will exceed one million.
